Parent-School Compact |

As a Student:
- I am important!
- I am responsible for being the best learner I can be.
- I will do what is right, not because someone is watching me, but because it is the right thing to do.
- I will obey all classroom and school rules.
- I will come to school daily and be prepared to learn.
- I will show respect for myself and all living beings.
As a parent/guardian, I will:
- Talk to my child about schoolwork and activities every day.
- Read and sign the Agenda Book daily.
- Read to my child or have my child read to me at every available opportunity (everyday).
- Show respect for my child, other children, their families, the teachers and the school with my words and actions.
- Check daily to see that all homework is completed.
- Communicate and work with the school staff to encourage my child with academics and positive behavior.
- See that my child attends school regularly, arrives on time and is ready to learn.
- See that my child wears Shwab Standard School Attire.
- Attend a minimum of two parent meetings and school functions during the school year.
- Provide feedback and/or suggestions for improvement in school-wide planning.
- Notify the school and teacher of any address, contact numbers or emergency changes. I will also notify the school about any changes in the life of my child because it is my responsibility.
As a school, we will:
- Make sure the school is a safe, healthy and nurturing place that encourages life long learning.
- Believe that all children can learn by providing an environment conducive to learning.
- Show that we care about students academically, socially and emotionally.
- Respect the cultural differences of students and their families.
- Seek ways to involve parents in the school programs and activities.
- Communicate with families through the agenda book and other means daily to support student learning.
- Demonstrate professional behavior and positive attitudes through out actions and words.
- Provide opportunities for parents to volunteer in class and school activities.
- Discuss this compact at formal and informal conferences.
- Have a minimum of two face-to-face conferences throughout the school year.
